# AI Coach Tech Lead/Architect - Company: [Palo It]() - Location: PALO IT Mexico - Remote: Yes - Team: Mexico City Technology - Employment type: Full Time - Posted: September 9, 2026 ## Job description ### **Who We Are** **Building the AI-first frontier enterprise.** We are a global technology consultancy with a trademarked, AI-first approach**—Gen-e2™.** It redefines how enterprises build digital products and transform their organizations with AI. **We do the right thing, and we do it right.** We're proud to be a World Economic Forum New Champion, and a B Corp-certified company. * We are small enough to care locally, big enough to deliver globally (**10 countries, 450+ experts from 50+ nationalities**) * We are becoming an agentic organization, adopting the AI-native operating model we bring to our clients. * We are robust and resilient (100% independent, 0 debt, founded 2009) * We are AI-native professionals who invest in what we believe and work as a collective intelligence * We are positive, courageous and deliver at the leading edge. ### Your Role As a **Tech Lead** with a strong **software architecture mindset**, you will lead the technical delivery of digital products end-to-end—hands-on when needed—while guiding teams toward scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. ### Key Responsibilities * Lead the design and evolution of technology solutions, ensuring **scalability, performance, security, and maintainability**. * Drive architectural decisions and trade-offs (e.g., **microservices vs modular monolith**), applying patterns such as **DDD**, **Clean/Hexagonal Architecture**, and **event-driven approaches** when relevant. * Design, build, and evolve **REST APIs**, including versioning, contract-first practices (**OpenAPI**), backward compatibility, and robust error handling. * Define and enforce engineering standards: **clean code**, testing strategy, code reviews, observability, security practices, and **CI/CD**. * Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a strong delivery culture and continuously raising the engineering bar. * Partner with Product, QA, UX, and stakeholders to refine scope, assess technical risks, shape the roadmap, and deliver incrementally. * Encourage **AI-first engineering practices** (Copilot/GenAI) with proper governance: quality gates, security, traceability, and testing. ### Who You Are * **10+ years** of software engineering experience with proven technical leadership (Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or strong senior with leadership responsibilities). * Strong backend expertise in **Java** (ideally 17/21/25+) with solid testing practices (e.g., **JUnit/Mockito** ) and performance awareness. * Proven ability to design and communicate software architecture: microservices/modular monoliths, Clean/Hexagonal, SOLID principles, integration patterns, and API design. * Strong engineering fundamentals: **CI/CD**, Git workflows, code review practices, observability (logs/metrics/traces), and a secure-by-design mindset. **Nice to have / Strong plus** * **Kafka/RabbitMQ**, event-driven architectures, **CQRS**, saga/outbox patterns. * **Docker/Kubernetes**, **Terraform/IaC**, and cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP). * **OAuth2/OIDC**, JWT, and security best practices (OWASP). * Experience in high-traffic systems, performance tuning, and caching strategies. * Experience working in **AI-assisted engineering** environments and setting quality/security guardrails. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence decisions and align teams. * Professional English (**B2+ preferred**) for global collaboration and documentation. ### **AI-Native Engineering (Core Expectation)** * Use **Generative AI coding tools** (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as a first-class engineering assistant for: * Code scaffolding and refactoring * Code generation and optimisation * Test-cases and documentation generation * Build applications through **AI-driven development practices**, including: * AI-assisted debugging and troubleshooting * Intelligent code completion and pattern recognition * Automated documentation generation * Apply **prompt engineering best practices** for reliable, repeatable engineering outcomes. * Validate **GenAI output**(determinism checks, guardrails, fallback logic). ### **More About PALO IT** Our clients include some of the world’s most successful companies.
