At Alibaba, architected the core recommendation engine serving 500M daily users. ## *What You'll Do:* As a Backend Engineer, you will play a central role in building and maintaining the critical backend infrastructure that powers our products. In this position, you will: * Contribute to designing scalable architectures that support new product features and business requirements. * Drive the development, deployment, and optimization of backend services, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate third-party platforms, APIs, and emerging AI technologies. * Take an active part in the continuous improvement of our engineering standards and development processes. * Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges to ensure stable, secure operations. ## *What You'll Bring:* * +1 years of professional experience in backend development, with a track record of delivering reliable and scalable systems. * Advanced proficiency in server-side programming and experience designing database-driven applications. * Strong grasp of API development, systems integration, and best practices in software engineering. * Experience building and maintaining environments that scale to serve real users in production. * An independent and proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to drive projects forward. * Based in San Francisco or able to be here full-time.
