## Job description

## The role

Own every study that gets our data-center power plants energized and interconnected. You deliver real power-system studies on live projects AND build the automated engine that makes those studies repeatable for every future project.

- Deliver complete study packages on live projects: load-flow, short-circuit, arc-flash (IEEE 1584), protection & relay coordination, motor-starting, and harmonic / power-quality studies in ETAP.

- Run electromagnetic-transient & dynamic studies in PSCAD/EMTDC for behind-the-meter (BTM) generation and grid interconnection: inverter-based-resource modeling, switching and insulation-coordination transients, sub-synchronous and control interactions, and fault ride-through.

- Own grid interconnection: utility interconnection studies and submittals, BTM-vs-grid-tied architecture trade-offs, and the studies required for the 800VDC data-center power transition.

- Build a parametric study engine that generates these studies (ETAP/PSCAD model build, scenario sweeps, automated report generation) from a single parameter template automating the arc-flash, protection-coordination, and interconnection workflows.

- Own cross-discipline coordination: protection settings & equipment ratings feeding electrical single-lines and equipment sizing; study assumptions aligned with mechanical and structural loads

## What we look for

- Deep hands-on ETAP and PSCAD/EMTDC; bonus for scripting/automating them (etapPy / ETAP DataHub, mhi.pscad) or adjacent tools (PowerFactory powfacpy, pandapower, OpenDSS, PSS/E)

- Real experience with arc-flash (IEEE 1584), protection & coordination, and utility interconnection studies

- A builder: you'd rather write the engine that runs the 100th study than run it by hand

- Genuine pull toward the data-center power / 800VDC problem

## What Matters

* PE license in at least one US state preferred but not required
* Ability to do the engineering and think about how to automate it
* Attitude and curiosity over years of experience

**Full-time W-2 | Remote US | Competitive base + founding-team equity**
