## Job description

### About Letaido

Letaido is an AI teammate for marketing teams. Not a chatbot that answers questions, an agent with its own workspace, that does the work: pulls the data, builds the tool, writes the report, ships the page, and keeps it running on a schedule.

Ask it for a content gap analysis and it queries Ahrefs directly. Ask it to track competitor ads and it builds you an app for that and keeps it updated. It connects to the systems marketers already live in HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Google Ads, Search Console, Stripe and around fifty others and it can stand up a public site or an internal dashboard without a developer.

It’s built inside Ahrefs, which gives it something almost no AI product has: fifteen years of web crawling infrastructure, petabytes of first-party index data, and no investors setting the timeline.

We are Ahrefs, a bootstrapped company that builds SEO and marketing tools used by hundreds of thousands of professionals worldwide. We’ve been profitable and independent for fifteen years, which means we answer to our users rather than to investors.

### The role

You’ll build Letaido’s influencer programme from nothing: the people who will show Letaido to their audiences, and the relationships that keep them doing it.

The people we care about are the ones marketers already listen to. SEOs and marketing practitioners with real followings, AI and tech creators covering agents and LLM workflows, the newsletter and podcast people whose recommendations get acted on. They’re on LinkedIn, X, YouTube and short-form, and most of them are small enough that nobody has built them a proper programme yet.

You won’t be cold-pitching them. Ahrefs has fifteen years of crawl data and petabytes of index, including how brands are being cited by AI assistants. That means you can open a conversation by handing someone something their audience actually wants and nobody else can produce, rather than asking them to advertise. Working out which data lands with which creator is a large part of the job.

The rest is outbound, and the volume is real. You’ll be sending fifty-plus messages in a good week, most of which won’t get a reply, and the ones that do will be because you watched their content and had something worth saying. If that sounds like a grind, it is. It’s also the only way this gets built.

We haven’t decided how the programme works yet, whether that’s paid, affiliate, free access or some mix. You’d work that out with us, then build it. Same for how it’s measured: you’ll define what counts as working before you’re held to it.

This is a role where you own the whole thing and also do all of it. There’s no team under you and no agency behind you. You’ll report directly to the Head of Letaido, so the distance between your idea and a decision is one conversation, and the programme that exists in a year is the one you built.

This role is based out of one of our US offices, Palo Alto or Cambridge (MA). You can be based in whichever of these you have the legal right to work in, but this is an on-site role: we’re looking for someone who’ll be in the office with the team.

### What you’ll do

* Find the people worth talking to, and be able to say why beyond their follower count
* Do the outreach yourself, at volume, and keep it personal enough to be worth reading
* Use our data as the opener: pull the numbers that make a story for their audience, and get the tool credited as the source
* Turn a first reply into a working relationship, then keep it working
* Design the programme with us: how partners are rewarded, what we ask of them, what good looks like
* Own the mechanics once it exists: onboarding, briefing, affiliate terms and commissions, paying people on time
* Build a standing roster rather than a run of campaigns, and give them reasons to stay: early access, data before it’s public, a say in what we build
* Negotiate placement, not just mentions. Position in a listicle, the segment in the video, the paragraph in the newsletter
* Define how this is measured and report it honestly. Signups and referral traffic, not impressions
* Use Letaido to research partners and run your own outreach, and tell the team where it falls short

### You’ll thrive here if

* You’ve built an influencer, creator or affiliate programme from a standing start, and can point to what it produced in users or revenue
* You’re genuinely comfortable with outbound. Most of these conversations will start with you
* You write outreach people reply to: short, specific, and obviously not a template
* You can judge someone on whether their audience trusts them, not on their follower count
* You’ve handled the commercial side yourself: rates, commissions, what a partnership is worth
* You know the difference between a sponsorship and a relationship
* You’d rather own a number than manage a calendar of calls that go nowhere
* You’re happy being the whole function for a while, and you’d rather build it than inherit it
* You want to be in a room with the team. This is a small group doing early-stage work, and that goes better in person

### This role is not

* Running campaigns through an agency. You do the work
* Waiting for people to come to you
* Measured in impressions
* A first job in influencer marketing

### Bonus

* You already know the SEO, marketing or AI tooling creator scene, and some of them know you
* You’ve pitched journalists as well as creators. It’s the same muscle and it feeds the same goal
* You’ve worked with AI agents or LLM tooling seriously enough to have opinions about where they’re genuinely useful
* You’ve run an affiliate or referral programme
* Experience in developer tools, marketing tools, or anything sold to practitioners

### What we offer

* An influencer programme to build from scratch, and the authority to run it
* Fifteen years of crawl data and an AI-visibility dataset to open doors with
* Direct line to the Head of Letaido. Small team, few layers, quick decisions
* Daily use of the thing you’re marketing, and a direct line to the people building it
* Annual company retreat (usually skiing)
* Conference and learning budget
* A properly equipped office, and lunch on us

**Location:** Palo Alto or Cambridge (MA). On-site.

Ahrefs does not engage with agencies or third party recruitment solutions for the roles we hire for. If at any point we need help, we'll let you know!
