## Job description

**ABOUT THE JOB**  
Arxlight is seeking a talented multi-disciplinary Robotics Hardware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving systems and components. We expect a high level of multi-disciplinary knowledge across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. You’ll take ownership of executing of entire projects and collaborate closely with functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**

* Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields - electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, manufacturing
* Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
* Design, implementation, and test of complex electro-mechanical systems
* High level system ownership with large levels of professional autonomy
* Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
* Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
* Travel to test sites as needed
* Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
* Wear many hats

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related field
* Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
* Experience in developing complex eletro-mechanical systems, such as robots, UAVs, wearables, high power, electric propulsion, etc
* Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
* Strong command of engineering first principles

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Multiple degrees or minors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related field
* Experience in Mechanical CAD (Solidworks, NX, Fusion 360, etc)
* Experience in Electrical CAD (Altium, KiCad, etc)
* Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, machining, soldering, board assembly, harnessing)
* Strong organizational skills
* Familiarity with microcontrollers, power conversion and system integration
* Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with designing for rugged environments
* Experience in characterizing circuits at both schematic and board level
* Familiarity with wireless communication protocols
* Experience with microcontroller wired communication protocols (USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485)
* Experience with motor and servo drive (BLDC/Brushed motor controller design, servo control systems)
* Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)
