# Senior iOS/Android Software Engineer - Company: [Clera]() - Location: San Francisco - Team: Engineering - Employment type: Full Time - Salary: $160K – $200K - Posted: September 10, 2026 ## Job description ### About the Role We're looking for a **Senior Android Software Engineer** to join a small, product-focused team building a consumer fintech mobile app. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ship meaningful features that directly impact users' financial lives. ### What You'll Do * Design, implement, and maintain the core Android application. * Help build and scale platform-level architecture and infrastructure. * Contribute to product design decisions and overall direction. * Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams. * Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Android engineers. ### What We're Looking For * At least 5 years of mobile app development experience, with 2 or more years shipping production Android apps professionally. * At least 3 years of experience working in a startup environment. * Strong **Kotlin** expertise, including **Jetpack Compose** and modern architecture patterns (MVVM or Clean Architecture). * Experience with backend data formats and APIs common in mobile: **protobufs, REST, and gRPC**. * Hands-on experience integrating **Firebase** services, including Authentication, Firestore or Realtime Database, and Cloud Messaging. * Proficiency with Android testing strategies: unit tests, instrumentation tests, and UI tests. * Experience maintaining **CI/CD pipelines** for mobile app development. * Demonstrated history of mentorship or technical leadership with junior engineers. * Background building **consumer-facing** mobile applications (not exclusively B2B). * Strong university-level CS or engineering background. * Clear, effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. ### Compensation & Benefits * Salary: $160,000 to $200,000 USD annually. * Visa sponsorship is available. ### Location On-site in **San Francisco, California**. ## Apply [Apply on Clera]() Canonical job page:
