We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure, reliability, and security that everything we build runs on. This is a high-autonomy role for an engineer ready to define a function from the ground up—setting technical direction, taking work from concept through production, and growing into broader technical leadership as we scale. All required travel will be paid for by Taekus. **Your Responsibilities** * Own and unify the platform and infrastructure that powers our core products and services, driving toward infrastructure-as-code over time. * Treat our engineers as your customers—build the tooling, paved roads, and self-service workflows that let them ship quickly and safely. * Own CI/CD and release automation, keeping the path to production fast, reliable, and observable. * Own feature-flag, configuration, and secrets infrastructure, along with the reliability of our background-job, caching, and queue systems (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ). * Improve observability and operational health across services through structured logging, error monitoring, and APM, and share in the on-call rotation for platform and infrastructure services. * Own the platform's security guardrails—secrets management, IAM and access control, PCI/PII data handling, and vulnerability management. * Own and automate compliance and audit readiness (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, partner security reviews), coordinating external auditors and making the process repeatable. **What We're Looking For** * 6+ years of professional engineering experience, with a strong platform, infrastructure, or backend focus. * Deep, hands-on AWS experience (EKS/Kubernetes, EC2, Lambda, RDS) in high-availability production environments. * Strong CI/CD and release-engineering background, with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, and a track record of building tooling that improves developer experience (Terraform a plus). * Comfort working in a Python/Django codebase (Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL), able to read and contribute to platform code. * Experience with modern observability and monitoring tooling across logging, error tracking, and APM. * A security-minded engineer, ideally with hands-on PCI-DSS or SOC 2 experience. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. **You’d Love This Job If** * You want to establish and own a platform from the ground up. * You'd rather automate security and compliance than grind through them by hand. * You enjoy contributing across the code base where needed. * You want to be in a scaling startup that is experiencing exponential growth. * You're excited by building foundational work and enjoy making an impact. * Traveling is in your DNA and you get to apply your passion into your work. * You thrive in growing high-caliber teams and want to influence both technical and strategic direction. **About Taekus** Taekus is a 6-year-old luxury financial services company that offers travel rewards credit cards, debit cards, and other banking services for the affluent market.
