The position requires technical, analytical, and leadership skills with a strong background in data engineering, data modeling, and modern cloud and AI data platforms including Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server. This position is approximately 25% people leadership and 75% hands-on technical work. **Who should apply?** * 8+ years of data engineering/data warehousing experience in a dynamic, data-rich, and fast-paced environment * Strong hands-on experience with day-to-day data warehousing and ETL/ELT operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of production pipelines * 3+ years of leadership/project leadership experience * Strong hands-on expertise with: Microsoft Fabric, SQL, ETL and Python * Hands-on experience with Databricks & Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouse architecture (Delta tables, OneLake, Apache Spark), Fabric Data Warehouse, and Fabric semantic models for downstream reporting * Proficiency using Python (including PySpark and notebooks) for data engineering, transformation logic, and automation within Fabric and/or SQL Server **Responsibilities:** * Lead the day-to-day operation of the data warehouse, ETL environment, and semantic/reporting layers, ensuring pipelines run reliably, resilience, data is available on schedule, and incidents are resolved quickly * Design and lead the team’s adoption and operational deployment of Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and SQL Server for data engineering, data pipeline modernization, and lakehouse/warehouse workloads * Partner with data architecture, Technical Operations, data governance, security, and platform teams to ensure compliance, access controls, and cost management across cloud data environments. * Write and review complex SQL and pipeline code; act as the final technical reviewer for major data model or pipeline changes * Evaluate opportunities to apply AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to data engineering workflows, such as pipeline development, code assistance, testing, and documentation, and guide the team through practical adoption **Onsite Requirements:** * Employees must be within a commutable distance to the Dallas, TX office.
