About the Role
This is a Forward Deployed Engineer role at a Y Combinator–backed AI startup building agentic software for the acquisitions and M&A space. You'll sit at the intersection of product and customer, translating complex real-world business problems into scalable autonomous systems — with direct visibility into the C-suite and meaningful influence over the core platform.
What You'll Do
- Own customer deployments end-to-end — from scoping and business logic translation through data ingestion, pipeline delivery, and ongoing optimization.
- Build and extend an agentic AI platform in close collaboration with the software engineering team.
- Turn messy, real-world business problems into autonomous software solutions.
- Join sales calls and identify expansion opportunities to support go-to-market efforts.
- Work with high autonomy on analytical problems that demand both technical depth and sharp business acumen.
What We're Looking For
- 2–3+ years of professional experience in consulting, finance, data engineering, or analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, transformation, scripting, and automation.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying data pipelines, ETL workflows, or data integration systems end-to-end.
- Familiarity with data warehousing tools and concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data modeling for multi-source integration.
- Experience building with LLM APIs and AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain), even in personal or side projects.
- Excellent communication and business sense — comfortable engaging with operators and finance leaders, not just engineers.
- Scrappy, autonomous, and action-oriented; thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Exposure to private equity, roll-ups, M&A, or holding company operations is a strong plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; visa sponsorship is not available.
