Our Risk Advisory practice provides expert advice and leadership to companies and senior management, helping them to resolve business critical regulatory, risk and legal matters. As part of the Risk Advisory family you will work alongside senior experts and leaders with years of experience in the areas of investigations, disputes and risk management.
AlixPartners has assembled a talented interdisciplinary team of experts who bring new and innovative ideas to client risk and compliance problems, bringing together data analytics, behavioral science as well as risk and regulatory expertise, to help clients approach an increasingly complex risk landscape.
This expert team is responsible for a wide variety of high impact, high stakes matters, helping clients to navigate transformational change, often driven by regulatory or legal matters, complex organisational change ambitions, or supporting senior management to meet its strategic objectives.
We are looking for a Vice President to join this team, with a primary focus on delivering risk and compliance engagements across financial services and other regulated industries. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong expertise in regulatory-driven programmes, risk frameworks, and client-facing execution. You will:
What you’ll do
- Support risk and compliance engagements from scoping through to execution, with full ownership of client deliverables
- Work with clients to define target operating models and control frameworks across risk and compliance functions, in collaboration and alignment with business, finance, operations, and HR functions
- Translate regulatory expectations (e.g. HKMA, SFC, MAS) into practical, implementable solutions aligned to client operating models
- Contribute to the development of practical risk and compliance solutions and methodologies
- Structure complex problems, develop clear recommendations, and support clients through implementation.
- Supporting business development through proposals, client discussions, and thought leadership in your area of expertise
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability building within the practice
What you’ll need

Essential:
- [years of relevant experience in risk and compliance within a consulting firm or financial institution (e.g. non‑financial risk, operational risk, compliance, AML/KYC, regulatory advisory)
- Track record of project delivery experience, including regulatory change / transformation or remediation programmes
- Experience designing and implementing risk frameworks, controls, governance structures and associated documentation (e.g. RCSAs, risk registers, policies)
- Familiarity with Hong Kong and regional regulatory expectations (e.g. HKMA, SFC, MAS) on risk management, governance and internal controls is highly preferred
- An interest or experience in people‑ and behaviour‑focused change management, in exploring new and emerging technology solutions, and in working within risk and compliance
- Strong project management and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure issues and develop pragmatic recommendations.
- Clear and effective communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese (ideally), with excellent verbal and written communication skills, is required.
Desirable:
- Exposure to digital assets / virtual asset regulation (e.g. VASP regimes) or other emerging risk areas
- Experience using data analytics (such as Python, SQL) and data visualisation platforms (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
- An interest in emerging technologies including the practical application of AI within risk and compliance.
