Role Summary:

The Senior Director, Business Applications & Digital Transformation is a key member of CPC's Information Technology leadership team responsible for the strategy, governance, delivery, and continuous evolution of the organization's enterprise business applications and digital transformation initiatives. This role ensures that technology solutions effectively support CPC's mission, improve operational efficiency, enhance employee productivity, and deliver measurable business value.

Reporting directly to the CIO, the Senior Director provides strategic leadership across Enterprise Applications, Business Relationship Management, Product Ownership, Application Support, Digital Workplace, Automation, AI Enablement, Enterprise Integrations, and Application Governance. This individual is responsible for the complete application lifecycle, from business requirements and solution selection through implementation, adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement while ensuring technology investments align with CPC's strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused technology leader with extensive experience managing enterprise application portfolios and leading business transformation initiatives. Working closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, Technology Operations, Data & Analytics, and strategic technology partners, this individual will drive application modernization, improve business processes, strengthen governance, increase user adoption, and leverage automation, data, and AI to accelerate CPC's digital transformation journey.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership

  • Build, lead, and continuously evolve a world-class Business Applications & Digital Transformation organization focused on innovation, operational excellence, and exceptional customer experience.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing Product Owners, Business Analysts, Application Specialists, and Digital Transformation professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-centric service delivery.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to align technology initiatives with CPC's strategic priorities.

Business Applications Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and execute CPC's Enterprise Applications and Digital Transformation strategy aligned with the overall Technology Roadmap and business objectives.
  • Establish governance, standards, and lifecycle management for CPC's enterprise application portfolio.
  • Define application roadmaps, technology standards, and investment priorities to maximize business value and optimize technology investments.
  • Lead application rationalization, modernization, cloud adoption, and technology standardization initiatives.

Enterprise Business Applications

  • Provide strategic leadership for CPC's portfolio of enterprise business applications, ensuring they are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Oversee application lifecycle management including evaluation, selection, implementation, upgrades, support, optimization, and retirement.
  • Ensure enterprise applications effectively support business operations while maximizing user adoption and return on investment.
  • Establish application governance, performance metrics, and service levels for all business-critical platforms.

Business Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary technology partner for business leaders across all departments, building trusted relationships and aligning technology solutions with business priorities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and identify opportunities to improve processes through technology.
  • Lead business requirements, process analysis, application enhancements, and solution prioritization.
  • Promote technology adoption through effective communication, training, and organizational change management.

Digital Transformation, Automation & AI

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement digital technologies that improve operational efficiency, employee productivity, and customer experience.
  • Lead enterprise automation initiatives utilizing Microsoft Power Platform, workflow technologies, AI, and emerging digital capabilities.
  • Champion business process optimization and digital innovation across the organization.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for AI-enabled solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Enterprise Integrations & Data Enablement

  • Develop and oversee enterprise application integration strategies, ensuring seamless data exchange between business systems.
  • Partner with the Data & Analytics team to support enterprise reporting, business intelligence, APIs, data governance, and analytics initiatives.
  • Ensure enterprise applications support CPC's long-term data strategy and digital ecosystem.

Project & Portfolio Delivery

  • Lead the successful delivery of enterprise application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with the PMO to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and ensure successful execution within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage application roadmaps and investment priorities to support CPC's strategic business objectives.
  • Sponsor continuous improvement initiatives that simplify operations and improve organizational effectiveness.

Vendor & Strategic Partner Management

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, managed service providers, and consulting organizations.
  • Lead software evaluations, RFI/RFP processes, contract negotiations, licensing, renewals, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Ensure technology partners deliver high-quality services while maximizing value, innovation, and return on investment.

Skills and Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including leadership of Enterprise Applications, Business Systems, Digital Solutions, and Technology Transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience building, leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing Business Applications and Application Support teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to build trusted relationships and partner effectively with executive leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience managing enterprise business applications, SaaS platforms, CRM, ERP, collaboration tools, document management systems, and digital workplace technologies.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise application implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of business process analysis, business relationship management, product ownership, application lifecycle management, and organizational change management.
  • Experience delivering Digital Transformation initiatives through process optimization, workflow automation, low-code/no-code platforms, AI-enabled solutions, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience working with enterprise integrations, APIs, data exchange, reporting platforms, business intelligence, and application interoperability.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, release management, testing, and application governance.
  • Proven experience managing software vendors, implementation partners, SaaS providers, licensing, contract negotiations, and strategic technology partnerships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, software investments, project portfolios, and technology roadmaps.
  • Relevant education and/or equivalent progressive professional experience in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Industry certifications are preferred.

  • Develop and execute CPC's Business Applications & Digital Transformation Roadmap, delivering measurable improvements in business processes, user productivity, and digital capabilities.
  • Increase adoption and business value of enterprise applications through continuous optimization, automation, training, and user engagement.

Enterprise Application Excellence

  • Maintain high availability, reliability, and performance of CPC's enterprise business applications while continuously improving the end-user experience.
  • Improve end-user satisfaction with enterprise applications through proactive support, application optimization, and continuous service improvement.

Business Partnership & Innovation

  • Build trusted partnerships with business leaders by delivering technology solutions that align with business priorities and improve organizational performance.
  • Identify and implement automation, workflow improvements, AI-enabled solutions, and digital innovations that increase operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Project & Portfolio Delivery

  • Successfully deliver enterprise application implementations, enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized Enterprise Applications Roadmap aligned with CPC's strategic objectives and technology investment priorities.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Optimize software licensing, vendor performance, and technology investments while maintaining strong strategic partnerships and maximizing return on investment.
  • Ensure enterprise applications remain secure, compliant, supported, and aligned with CPC's technology standards and governance.

Leadership & Organizational Excellence

  • Build and develop a high-performing Business Applications & Digital Transformation organization through coaching, mentoring, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Establish executive dashboards and KPIs that provide visibility into application health, user adoption, business value, project delivery, and digital transformation progress.

This is a hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week. The salary range is $185,000 – $215,000, dependent on experience.
