POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Director, Data Center Sales will lead the commercial team responsible for creating and converting the data center opportunity pipeline and securing the land and power required to move those opportunities into executable projects. This leader will establish the sales operating rhythm, develop strategic accounts, and hold the team accountable for measurable bookings, revenue, pipeline, margin, and project-conversion outcomes.
The team will originate and close complex opportunities with hyperscalers, GPU cloud and AI infrastructure providers, colocation operators, enterprises, developers, and other digital infrastructure customers. The offering may span powered land, utility and behind-the-meter power, energy infrastructure, powered shell/core, modular data center solutions, capacity agreements, and related operating or energy services.
This is a senior, quota-accountable commercial leadership role. The successful candidate will bring established data center relationships, firsthand credibility closing multi-megawatt and high-value transactions, and the ability to align customer demand with site control, power availability, technical feasibility, commercial structure, capital requirements, and execution readiness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership and Revenue Growth
• Build, lead, coach, and scale the commercial team responsible for market development, customer acquisition, pipeline conversion, and strategic account growth.
• Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for the Data Center Infrastructure Business, with clear market, customer, channel, and capacity priorities.
• Carry accountability for annual bookings, revenue, qualified pipeline, margin, and forecast accuracy; establish disciplined CRM, stage-gate, and inspection practices.
• Originate and close strategic opportunities ranging from distributed or edge deployments to larger-scale AI and high-density computing infrastructure.
• Lead the team from initial customer engagement through qualification, solution development, commercial negotiation, contracting, and structured handoff to development and execution teams.
• Personally engage in the most strategic pursuits and executive negotiations while developing the team's ability to close complex business independently.
Pipeline, Land, and Power Origination
• Create a qualified, actionable pipeline based on customer demand, available or obtainable power, viable land, schedule, economics, and organizational delivery capacity.
• Lead the commercial coordination required to secure site control, power capacity, utility engagement, and other inputs necessary to convert customer interest into executable projects.
• Partner with land, development, power, engineering, finance, and legal leaders to assess site readiness, utility interconnection, capital requirements, pricing, and risk before advancing an opportunity.
• Match customer capacity, resiliency, schedule, cooling, and commercial requirements with realistic land, power, and infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain market intelligence regarding customer demand, available capacity, power constraints, competing projects, pricing, and development timelines.
Strategic Account and Ecosystem Development
• Establish and manage executive relationships with hyperscalers, GPU cloud providers, AI infrastructure companies, colocation operators, enterprise customers, developers, brokers, and strategic channel partners.
• Develop account plans for priority customers and maintain relationships across capacity planning, real estate, infrastructure, energy, engineering, procurement, finance, and corporate development.
• Use an established network to create near-term access and opportunities while continuing to expand the Company's reach across the data center ecosystem.
• Position TransGrid Energy as a strategic infrastructure and power partner rather than a traditional equipment or project supplier.
Deal Structuring and Commercial Leadership
• Lead proposals, RFIs, RFPs, LOIs, term sheets, MSAs, and commercial offers for large, complex infrastructure opportunities.
• Structure and negotiate agreements that may include powered land, powered shell/core, leases, capacity commitments, development agreements, EPC or construction components, energy services, and long-term operating relationships.
• Demonstrate sound commercial judgment on opportunities that may involve multi-megawatt capacity and total contract values exceeding $50 million.
• Coordinate technical solutions, project schedules, capital requirements, pricing, financial models, returns, contractual risk positions, and customer-supported capital structures.
• Maintain disciplined qualification and investment-stage governance; disqualify or restructure opportunities when land, power, schedule, economics, or risk cannot support execution.
