Core Development is a global team of technologists who architect, build and maintain our world-class trading platform. From optimizing our core trading engine to building custom hardware, we leverage software & hardware engineering, data science and research, to deliver the infrastructure and tools that drive our trading and business needs. They collaborate extensively with traders, quantitative researchers and technologists across the organization to solve difficult technical problems ranging from CPU architecture, operating systems, networking, and hardware.
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a strategic mindset who is passionate about development, demonstrates intellectual curiosity, and has extensive experience using technology to solve cross-functional business problems.
What You'll Do:
- Be part of a dynamic team developing and maintaining Jump's Algorithmic Trading Platforms.
- Create and optimize scalable, multi-tiered applications and infrastructure.
- Influence the strategic direction of Core Development and use technology to solve business problems in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
- Partner with engineering, networking, and trading teams across multiple regions to align technical priorities with business objectives.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
Skills You'll Need:
- At least 3-4 years of experience building platforms and solving business challenges.
- Strong programming skills using C++ or Python on large distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of computer systems (e.g. operating systems, networks, performance optimization).
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and maturity in tackling complex problems across cross-functional teams, technology, and processes.
- Team player, with good communication, interpersonal skills, and a humble and cooperative attitude.
- Bachelor's or Masters’ degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.
- Reliable and predictable availability.
