Our Mission
Healthcare should work for patients, but it doesn’t. In their time of need, they call down outdated insurance directories. Then wait on hold. Then wait weeks for the privilege of a visit. Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.
Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.
We’re 18 years old and the leader in our space, but we are still just getting started. If you like solving important, complex problems alongside deeply thoughtful, driven, and collaborative teammates, read on.
Your Impact on our Mission
We’re building a world class Marketing team at Zocdoc -- and we’re growing fast! As an Associate Web Developer, you'll own the technical development and health of Zocdoc's provider-facing website — a core channel that helps connect healthcare providers with millions of patients. The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack WordPress developer who brings deep knowledge of web best practices, a point of view on site reliability and security, and a solid understanding of website architecture. You research before you build, care about doing things the right way, and can make sound technical decisions independently. It's a great opportunity for a thoughtful, technically rigorous developer to make a big impact on a highly visible part of the business.
You’ll enjoy this role if you are...
- Curious about trying new things, challenging assumptions, and solving problems in creative ways
- Excited by the challenge of owning a live production web property end-to-end — from updates to full builds
- Able to see the big picture and translate high-level marketing strategy into clean, performant technical solutions
- Highly collaborative and comfortable working with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Design, Data, and external agencies
- Serious about your work, but not about yourself — this team moves fast and has a sense of humor about it
Your day to day is…
- Building, maintaining, and improving Zocdoc's provider-facing website, including CMS configuration, content architecture, and hosting environment management
- Developing and maintaining custom components, templates, and page structures that support marketing campaigns and the provider acquisition funnel
- Managing and optimizing Marketo form integrations and lead capture flows across the site
- Embedding and configuring Wistia video assets and ensuring seamless performance across pages
- Collaborating with designers and PMMs to implement new landing pages, content updates, and site redesigns on tight timelines
- Supporting A/B testing initiatives by implementing front-end changes, tracking code, and experiment variations
- Conducting QA across browsers and devices, resolving bugs, and proactively identifying performance or UX issues
- Contributing to documentation, code quality standards, and scalable development practices for the web team
You’ll be successful in this role if you are…
- Bringing 4–7 years of professional web development experience, with meaningful time owning a production CMS-backed marketing site end-to-end
- Experienced across one or more modern CMS platforms (WordPress, Contentful, Sanity, Prismic, or similar) with the ability to evaluate, recommend, and migrate between them as business needs evolve
- Familiar with CMS hosting and infrastructure best practices (staging environments, deployment workflows, caching, CDN)
- Proficient in front-end development: HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (vanilla and/or jQuery), and responsive/mobile-first design
- Comfortable with backend web development: REST APIs, webhooks, and CMS-specific extensibility patterns
- Experienced integrating third-party martech tools — particularly Marketo (forms, tracking, lead flows) and Wistia (video embeds and analytics)
- Skilled at debugging cross-browser and performance issues and translating them into clean fixes
- A clear communicator who can scope, estimate, and execute independently with minimal oversight
- Bonus: experience with Figma handoffs, analytics/tag management, and working in agile marketing environments

- An incredible team of smart and supportive people
- A competitive compensation package, including attractive medical insurance
