About the Role
This is a founding engineer position at an early-stage AI fintech company building intelligent automation for private market operations. You'll work directly alongside the founding team and customers to shape the core product — an AI-powered platform that automates fund accounting workflows like data capture, reconciliation, and journal entry generation. This is a maximum-ownership role with a clear path into leadership.
What You'll Do
- Build and iterate on core product components, including AI agents that integrate with inboxes, web portals, and financial data sources.
- Design and develop production-grade backend APIs and services that power end-to-end private market operations workflows.
- Work directly with design partners and customers to gather requirements, define the product roadmap, and communicate trade-offs.
- Contribute to recruiting and help shape the culture and team as an early hire.
- Operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced, ambiguous founding environment.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and agentic/autonomous system development.
- Strong backend development skills, including building and operating production-grade APIs and services.
- Experience building or maintaining AI-native operations infrastructure (e.g. accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury systems).
- Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and treasury processes.
- Comfort working in a founding team environment with high ownership, proactive communication, and comfort with ambiguity.
- Experience integrating and operating LLMs and agent-based systems in production.
- Eligibility to work in Germany (visa sponsorship is available).
- Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany.
